Highlights of this year's conference included keynote addresses by David Pincott, Head of Media Relations at Edge, a U.K.-based organization that promotes practical and vocational learning, Mike Annable, Vice President of Human Resources, Information Technology & Administration with Linamar Corporation, and author/broadcaster Rex Murphy, who received a standing ovation for his SISCO Address during the 2008 Colleges Ontario Awards ceremony.

More than 300 conference participants took advantage of seven workshops focused on the conference theme Branding the Sector, which broadly explored how to define college education today, and how to brand the college experience. These ideas were illustrated in the opening video, which highlighted success stories of Ontario college graduates.

Fanshawe College students and staff hosted a memorable event, as conference participants took on the role of passengers aboard the Canadian Express. The figurative train took them on an culinary tour of Canada, celebrating the very best of Canadian cuisine. An outstanding showcase of student talent!

Leaders and volunteers who have contributed to the success of the college sector were honoured at the 2008 Colleges Ontario Awards Luncheon. Highlights of the ceremony included the annual presentation of the 2008 Minister's Lifetime Achievement Award, the OCASA Doug Light Award, and the CCSS Joan Homer Award. The annual Premier's Awards honoured six college graduates for their outstanding career achievements. Organized by the College Compensation and Appointments Council and Fanshawe College, this year's event saluted recipients who were selected from more than 90 nominations.
